The checks shown before you send

The Review & Send step runs a set of checks and shows the result above the send buttons. When everything passes it reads Ready to send.

The checks cover four things.

Your sender

  • Sending domain is authenticated — DNS is in order.
  • Could not verify the sending domain's DNS — the check itself failed, rather than the domain being wrong. Retry, and if it persists see Verify a sending domain.
  • Sender address is not a valid email address — fix this before sending.

Your list

  • List looks ready / Your list is delivering well — nothing to do.
  • These addresses haven't been emailed before — a cold list. Bounces are unpredictable on addresses with no sending history, and a bad first send damages your domain for every future campaign. Send to a small slice first and watch the result before mailing everyone.
  • Some of these contacts haven't heard from you in a while — a dormant list. People forget they subscribed, and forgotten subscribers are the ones who press the spam button. Complaints are what stop campaigns automatically, and the tolerance is roughly one in twelve hundred.

Your allowance

"Allowance" here is your daily sending cap, set by your plan size and reset at 00:00 UTC — not a monthly limit. See Your sending limits and usage.

  • Your allowance covers this send — fine.
  • This send uses almost all of today's allowance — the send will start, but anything else you queue today may not complete. If you have another campaign scheduled for this evening, reschedule one of them.
  • This send is larger than your remaining allowance — part goes now and the rest waits; the campaign pauses and resumes from where it stopped.
  • Could not check your remaining allowance — the check failed, not the allowance. Sending is still permitted.

Credits matter too: email is 25 credits per 1,000, so a campaign to 10,000 people costs 250 credits. If your credits run short mid-send, the campaign sends what they cover and pauses the rest until you top up — see Why is my campaign paused?.

Take the warnings seriously

None of these block the send — they are advice, and you can send anyway. But they are the same conditions that cause automatic pauses hours later, and it is much cheaper to act on them now than to explain a suppressed domain afterwards. See Why is my campaign paused?.

Next: open Review & Send and read the panel above the buttons before clicking.
