Create and schedule a campaign

Three things must exist before a campaign can be created: a sender profile, an audience, and your email content. The campaign builder will not let you past step 1 without the first two.

Before you start

1. Add a sender on the Senders page. Only verified senders appear in the dropdown — see Add a sender profile.
2. Build an audience on the Audiences page — see Create an audience list.

Create the campaign

Go to Campaigns and click New Campaign. The builder has three steps, shown in the bar at the top: Details, Content, Review & Send.

Step 1 — Details

• Campaign Name — internal only, your recipients never see it.
• Sender Profile — pick who the email comes from.
• Audience — choose one or more lists or segments. They are grouped under Lists and Segments in the dropdown.
• Schedule (optional) — set a date and time to send later. Leave it empty to send as soon as you finish.

Click Continue.

Step 2 — Content

Either click Start from a template to pick a saved design, or write the email directly:

• Subject
• HTML Body
• Plain Text (optional but recommended)

You can personalise any of these with the merge tags {{first_name}}, {{last_name}} and {{email}}.

There is also a link-tracking section where you can set the UTM Source, Medium and Campaign values. Leave them alone and sensible defaults are used.

Click Continue.

Step 3 — Review & Send

This step shows a summary — Campaign, Sender, Audience, Subject, Template and Scheduled time — along with any delivery warnings worth reading before you commit.

Then choose:

• Save as Draft — keeps everything, sends nothing.
• Schedule Campaign — appears when you set a schedule in step 1.
• Send Now — appears when you did not.

Good to know

The recipient count shown next to an audience is how many contacts that list holds, which is not always how many will actually receive the email — unsubscribed, bounced and invalid addresses are excluded at send time.

Next: open Campaigns and click New Campaign.
