Verify a sending domain
Verifying your domain is what lets you send from your own brand rather than a shared address, and it is the single biggest thing you can do for inbox placement.
Three steps: Add Domain on the Senders page, add the DNS records it gives you at your DNS provider, then come back and click Check DNS. The last one is the step people miss — nothing verifies on its own.
Add the domain
Open Senders, and in the Sending Domains section click Add Domain. Enter the domain you want to send from.
We then show you a DNS records to add panel. Each row has a Copy value button.
Add the records at your DNS provider
Add every record we list, exactly as shown, at whoever hosts your DNS. The page includes a Where to add these, by DNS provider section with specific guidance for Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Google Domains / Squarespace and Shopify.
Two things to be careful about:
- Do not edit your root SPF record. If you already have one, adding a second will break authentication rather than improve it. Follow the guidance shown on the page instead.
- Copy values exactly. A trailing dot or a missing character is the usual reason verification fails.
Check it
DNS changes are not instant — most providers take a few minutes, some take hours. When you have added the records, come back to Senders and click Check DNS on the domain.
Clicking Check DNS is what actually re-reads your DNS and updates the status. Nothing happens automatically in the background, so if you added records an hour ago and the status looks unchanged, click it.
Then add senders
Once the domain reads Verified, add sender profiles on it — see Add a sender profile.
Next: open Senders → Add Domain, then copy the records into your DNS provider.
