A tool failed or returned nothing
Two messages you may see: Network error. Please try again. and Something went wrong. Please try again.
Both mean the run did not complete. Press run again — a transient failure is by far the most likely cause, and the retry is a deliberate choice you make rather than something that happens automatically in the background.
If it fails repeatedly
Check the input first. Most tools want a domain or URL, and the usual causes are unglamorous:
- A typo, or a domain that does not resolve.
- A site that blocks automated requests.
- A URL behind a login, which the tool cannot see.
httpwhere the site ishttps, or a page that redirects somewhere else.
Try the URL in a private browser window. If it does not load cleanly there, the tool will not see it either.
A result that is empty rather than failed
Different thing. The tool ran and found nothing — a backlink checker on a new domain, or a keyword tool on a term with no data. That is a real answer, not an error, and it is worth taking at face value.
Were you charged?
A failed run gives its credits back automatically. Check Credits in your account menu before and after if you are unsure — and if a repeated failure has clearly cost credits, contact support with the tool name and roughly when, since that is enough to find it.
When nothing changes on re-run
Look at the cache before assuming the tool is broken — see Are tool results cached?.
Next: open the URL in a private window to confirm it loads, then run the tool again.
