Send yourself a test email

Preview shows how a design renders here. A test send shows how it renders in a real inbox, which is the only thing that actually counts.

Send one

Click Send a test. Then:

  • From — a sender profile. If you have none, the panel offers Add a sender; see Add a sender profile.
  • Send to — one or more addresses, comma separated: you@example.com, teammate@example.com.

Click Send test.

You need a subject before you can send — the panel will say "Add a subject line first." if it is missing.

What to check

Open it on a phone as well as a desktop. Most marketing email is read on a phone, and that is where a too-wide image or a small tap target shows up.

Look at:

  • The subject and preview text as they appear in the inbox list, before opening.
  • Whether images loaded — many clients block them by default, so the email should still make sense without them.
  • Whether merge tags rendered, or leaked as literal {{first_name}}.
  • Buttons and links, by tapping them.

Test sends are not identical to real sends

A test is for checking rendering and content. It is not a rehearsal of the full delivery path — some headers a real campaign carries are not part of a test.

So a test proves your email looks right. It does not prove deliverability. That comes from a verified sending domain and a clean list — see Verify a sending domain.

Send tests to more than one place

Gmail, Outlook and Apple Mail each render email differently. If you have accounts on two or three, send to all of them at once — that is what the comma-separated field is for.

Next: click Send a test, then open the result on your phone.
