Images and the media library

Images used in emails live in your Media library, so the same logo or banner can be reused across templates without uploading it again.

Adding an image to a design

Add an Image block, then pick a file. The picker — Choose an image — lets you search, browse All folders, or look at what is Not in a folder.

Upload new files to the library and they are available to every template afterwards.

Folders

The library supports folders. Worth using once you have more than a screenful: a workspace that has been running a while accumulates a lot of images, and finding last year's banner is much easier when it is filed.

Alt text is not optional

Every Image block has an Alt text field. Fill it in.

Many email clients block images by default, so for a good share of your recipients the alt text is the email. An image-only email with no alt text arrives as a blank rectangle.

It also matters for accessibility, and image-heavy email with no text at all is a spam-filter signal.

Practical sizing

  • Keep images reasonably sized. A multi-megabyte hero image is slow on mobile data and some clients clip long messages.
  • Design so the email still works with images off. If your call to action is inside an image, a recipient with images blocked cannot see it — use a Button block for anything that must be clicked.

Linking an image

An Image block has a Links to field, so a banner can be clickable. Pair it with a text link or button for the recipients who never see the image.

Next: open your template, select each Image block, and check its Alt text is filled in.
