Edit a website you already have from GitHub
If your site's code is already in a GitHub repository, you can ask for changes in chat without rebuilding it here. On Marketing Manager → Website, click Edit an existing website. The button only appears when this is available for your workspace.
Connect the repository
- If GitHub isn't connected yet, click Connect GitHub. Install the Brainito app on the GitHub account that holds your website's code and give it access to that repository.
- Back in the window, find your repository — use Search repositories if you have many — and click it.
Don't see it? Brainito only sees the repositories you gave it access to. Open Repository access next to the account name, add the repository on GitHub, then click Refresh.
If a yellow note says the app needs updated permissions, click Review and accept them on GitHub, then reopen the window.
The site appears as a card with the label GitHub and counts towards your plan's website limit.
How a change reaches your live site
Nothing touches your live site until you say so. The steps at the top of the page are Ask, Review, Push and Merge:
- Ask — describe the change in What should change on your site? Your first request starts a session on a new branch.
- Review — check the changed files and, where available, the preview. Keep editing lets you ask for more before pushing.
- Push — click Push to GitHub to send the branch to your repository.
- Merge — the button names your main branch, e.g. Merge to main. You are asked to confirm: "This puts the changes on your live site once your host deploys it." Not yet leaves it unmerged.
New session ends the current one; your next request starts a fresh branch. If the current session has changes that aren't on GitHub, they are left behind.
What it costs
Each request costs 10 or 30 credits, the same as chat changes on a site built here — see Change your site with the AI chat. Pushing and merging are free.
Removing it
More → Remove from Brainito removes the site from the workspace. Your repository on GitHub is not deleted.
Next: start with a small change, like "Fix the typo in the footer", and follow it through to Merge once.
