Marketing Plan troubleshooting
Most Marketing Plan problems come from one of these: details that aren't confirmed, not enough credits, a view-only seat, or a section that couldn't be written.
There's no Generate Plan button
Generate Plan only appears once the details are confirmed. Open the plan, fill in the required fields and click Confirm details are correct. If the form says "Please fill in:", it lists exactly what's missing.
My generated plan disappeared
If someone clicked Save draft on a confirmed plan, it went back to a draft. A draft plan opens on its details form rather than the report. Click Confirm details are correct to get the report back. Confirming doesn't charge anything.
Also check you're in the right workspace. Plans belong to the workspace they were created in. See Workspaces.
"Generation had an issue"
The panel at the bottom shows this with the reason, and you can click Generate Plan again.
- Not enough credits. The workspace owner's balance couldn't cover the 100 credits. The owner needs to top up. See Running out of credits. When a regenerate fails this way, the page shows that failure in place of the earlier plan until a new run finishes.
- Something else went wrong partway. Credits are only returned automatically when a run fails to start. If a run fails partway through, contact support before you try again.
A row says Couldn't generate
A single section failed while the others finished. The rest of the plan is still usable. Regenerating writes every section again and costs another 100 credits.
A section says nothing was found
Messages like "No competitor data was available to compare against." mean the section ran but had nothing to report. Naming your competitors in the details helps, and so does running a Marketing Audit of the website first. After that, edit, confirm and regenerate.
It's taking a long time
Sections are written in order, and the Marketing Plan steps and Budget come last. The page updates by itself, so there's no need to refresh. Clicking the button again while a run is going doesn't start a second one or charge twice.
"You have view-only access"
Viewers can read plans but can't create, edit or generate them. Ask a workspace owner or admin to start the plan, or to change your role.
