Currency, time zone and the summary email
Three settings sit behind the Settings button at the top of Analytics → Overview: a summary email for you, the report currency and the time zone for emails.
Email me a summary
Get the written summary, the headline numbers and what needs attention by email at 8 am. Under Email me a summary, choose:
- Off: no email (the default).
- Weekly: every Monday, covering the last 7 days up to yesterday.
- Daily: every morning, covering yesterday.
This setting is yours alone. Each person in the workspace turns their own summary on or off, and anyone with access can do it, viewers included. If you leave the workspace, the emails stop.
To stop the emails, set it back to Off, or use the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any summary email.
Currency
Currency sets which currency the page shows money in. Automatic uses the currency your connected data reports in, and shows which one in brackets, for example Automatic (USD). Pick a currency from the list if the automatic choice is wrong.
Brainito does not convert between currencies. With a currency chosen, store orders in any other currency are left out rather than added in, so choose the currency your store actually sells in. Picking the wrong one can make revenue look like it dropped to nothing.
Time zone for emails
Time zone for emails decides when 8 am is for the summary emails, and when a month ends for the monthly report. It starts as UTC. Set it to where your business is, otherwise a daily email can land in the middle of your night.
The date range pills on the page don't use this setting. They follow the time zone of your own browser.
Who can change what
Only an owner or admin can change Currency and Time zone for emails. Everyone else sees them greyed out with the note "Only an owner or admin can change the currency and time zone."
Not getting the summary?
- Check it is set to Weekly or Daily, not Off.
- A weekly summary only arrives on Mondays.
- Check Time zone for emails. 8 am UTC can be the evening before, or the middle of the day, where you are.
- Check your spam folder, and that you haven't used the Unsubscribe link.
Next: open Analytics → Settings, set Time zone for emails, then choose Weekly.
