Pause, resume or edit a campaign

You can pause, resume and edit Meta campaigns from the Actions column of any campaigns table. Open Paid Ads → Meta Ads → Campaigns. Every change goes to your live Meta ad account straight away.

Google Ads campaigns show no buttons in Actions. Pause or change them in Google Ads itself for now.

Pause and resume

• Pause stops the campaign at once. There is no confirmation, because pausing is the safe direction.
• Resume asks first: Resume this campaign? It will start spending again on the budget already set for it.

The status updates only after Meta confirms it, so the button may spin for a moment. A paused campaign stays in the list, under the Paused filter, even when it has no spend in the period.

Edit the name or budget

Click Edit to open Edit campaign. Change the Name or Daily budget, then Save changes.

The campaign-level budget only applies if the campaign uses a campaign budget. Otherwise the budget lives on each ad set and Meta refuses the change. Edit the ad set instead.

Edit an ad set

Click the campaign name to open its page. Under Ad sets each row has its own Edit and Pause / Resume buttons. Edit ad set lets you change the Name, Daily budget, Starts and Ends. Schedule and budget live on the ad set, because that is where Meta keeps them.

When a change is refused

• Above the cap — the new daily budget is higher than the workspace's daily spend cap. See The daily spend cap.
• Saved for approval — if an agency manages your workspace, you see Changes to this ad account are published by the agency managing it. Your change has been saved for approval. Nothing changes in Meta until they publish it.
• Viewers cannot change anything.
