Organise audiences into folders
The Audiences page has a folder bar across the top. All audiences shows everything; selecting a folder narrows the table to that folder's lists.
An empty folder says This folder is empty rather than looking broken.
When it is worth bothering
Below about a dozen lists, folders are overhead. Past that, they are the difference between finding last quarter's list and rebuilding it because you could not.
Groupings that tend to hold up:
- By source — Shopify, ad leads, imports, sign-up forms.
- By campaign or season — Black Friday, product launches.
- Archive — lists you no longer send to but do not want to delete.
That last one is the useful one. Most people accumulate lists they are afraid to delete; a folder called Archive is a much better answer than a table of forty rows you scroll past every week.
Folders do not change anything else
A folder is a view. Moving a list between folders does not touch its contacts, and campaigns pointed at it keep working. The same folder behaviour appears on Templates and Media, so it works the way you would expect once you have used it once.
Next: open Audiences and use the folder bar to file the lists you are no longer sending to.
