Rename, open or delete a list

Every row on the Audiences page has an Actions menu.

Rename

Rename list changes the name only. Nothing about its contacts changes, and campaigns already using the list keep working — they point at the list itself, not at its name.

Worth doing when a name has drifted from reality. "Import 3" tells nobody anything in six months.

Open

View opens the list so you can see and search its contacts — see See who is in a list.

Upload contacts

Upload contacts imports a CSV into this list. See Import contacts from a CSV.

Delete

Deleting a list removes the grouping, not the people. Your contacts stay in your account and in any other lists they belong to.

Two things to check first:

  • Is a campaign or automation using it? A scheduled campaign pointed at a deleted list has nothing to send to.
  • Is this actually the list you mean? Names like "Newsletter" and "Newsletter 2026" are easy to confuse. Open it and look at the contacts first.
