Long-tail keyword generator

The long tail is where you can rank. Here is how to reach it.

A suggestion engine answers around the phrase you typed. Search 'running shoes' and you get 700 variations of running shoes, but almost nothing about 'wide running shoes' or 'running shoes for flat feet', because the engine was never asked. Most long-tail tools leave you to guess the modifiers and run them one by one.

Brainito's filters do the second step for you. Add an include term, and if it matches fewer than 20 keywords on the page, the tool runs one extra search for that term plus your seed, tells you the cost first, and merges the new keywords into the list. The result is a long-tail list built from real suggestions, not a template that bolts adjectives onto your seed.

Free account. A search is 5 credits, cached for 30 days. Plans from $20 a month.

  • Include terms with 'all' or 'any' matching, exclude terms to drop noise
  • Automatic second search when an include term is thin
  • Total count and volume of the filtered set, live
  • Google, YouTube, Bing, Amazon, eBay, Etsy, TikTok, App Store and Play Store

Why 'shoe' never shows you 'white shoe'

Autocomplete is built to finish a sentence, not to map a market. It offers the phrases that commonly follow or surround your words, so a seed of 'shoe' returns 'shoe stores near me', 'shoe size chart' and 'shoe rack', and nothing that starts with a color, a material or a use case. The long tail you want is a different sentence, and the engine only lists it when you type that sentence.

The honest fix is to run the second search. The tool does it the moment your include term reveals a gap: 'white' matching a handful of rows means the data is missing, not that nobody searches for white shoes. One extra search for 'white shoe' fills the gap, costs the same 5 credits as any search, and is labeled on the filter before it runs so nothing is spent silently.

What the long-tail keyword generator does

  • Include terms, all or any

Type 'wide, flat feet' and choose whether a keyword must contain every term or at least one. Phrases with spaces stay one term, so 'for women' matches as a phrase.

  • Exclude terms

Drop competitor brands, 'free', 'near me', 'reddit' or anything you cannot rank for. Exclusions apply before includes, so the list is clean before it is narrowed.

  • Automatic long-tail fetch

A new include term that matches fewer than 20 keywords triggers one extra search for that term plus your seed. New keywords merge in without duplicates.

  • Labeled before it runs

The filter shows the exact phrase it is about to search and the credits it costs. A phrase already searched within 30 days comes back from the cache for nothing.

  • Totals for the filtered set

Count of keywords, combined monthly volume and average CPC update as you add or remove terms, so you can compare one angle against another in seconds.

  • Nine platforms with the second search

The automatic fetch runs on Google, YouTube, Bing, Amazon, the App Store, the Play Store, eBay, Etsy and TikTok, where one extra phrase reliably adds keywords. Other platforms keep the free filter.

  • Sort the tail by what matters

Sort by volume to find the biggest long-tail phrases, by CPC to find the commercial ones, or by trend to see which specific phrases are growing this year.

How to generate long-tail keywords

The whole method in four moves, using 'running shoes' in the United States as the example.

  1. Search the head term

Type 'running shoes' on the Google page and pick United States. The first result set is a few hundred broad phrases with their volumes.

  2. Add one include term

Type 'flat feet' into include. If fewer than 20 rows contain it, the filter offers one search for 'flat feet running shoes', with the cost shown, and runs it.

  3. Exclude the noise

Add 'nike, adidas, reddit' to exclude. What remains is the unbranded long tail you can write for, with its total volume in the header.

  4. Repeat for each angle

Swap 'flat feet' for 'wide', 'trail' or 'for beginners'. Each include term is one more targeted search, and each phrase is cached for 30 days.

Type the modifier. Let the tool run the second search.

Every search, including the automatic one, is 5 credits and is shown before it runs. Plans start at $20 a month, or 100 credits for $5.
