Technical SEO checks and re-checks

Open SEO → Technical to see how your site does on crawling, indexing, performance, security and tracking. After you fix something, re-check just that item instead of running a whole new audit.

Where the results come from

The technical checks come from the Marketing Audit. If you see No audit for yoursite.com yet, click Run the audit. Once it has run, every item can be re-checked here on its own. See Run a marketing audit.

The top bar shows the technical score, how many items are failing, the date of the audit, and a Full report link.

The three groups

There are 31 items in three groups:

  • Crawl and index — can Google and the AI crawlers find, read and index the site. Covers the sitemap, robots.txt, AI crawler access, llms.txt, structured data, broken links, canonical tags, hreflang and mobile layout.
  • Performance and security — how the site is served. Covers JavaScript rendering, lazy loading, CDN, SSL, HTTPS, mixed content, security headers and DDoS protection.
  • Analytics and speed — measurement in place, and how fast pages load. Covers analytics, tag manager, conversion and event tracking, Search Console, Meta Pixel, heatmaps, cookie consent, Core Web Vitals and mobile page speed.

What each label means

  • Pass — fine.
  • Fail — needs fixing. Click the row for What to do and links to tools that help.
  • N/A — doesn't apply to this site.
  • Couldn't verify — the check was inconclusive. It isn't a failure; re-check it later.

After a re-check the row also says what it was before, so you can see what changed.

Re-check an item

  • Re-check on a row costs 2 credits and runs the check against a fresh copy of the site.
  • To re-check several, tick them (or Select all failing) and click Re-check N selected · X credits. Each item costs 2 credits.

A message tells you the result, for example "passes now" or "still failing". If the item had a task on your Action Board and it now passes, the task is closed automatically with a note. If it still fails, a note is added to the task.

Re-checks need a paid plan. The full weekly audit re-checks failing items for you as part of its price.

Send failures to the board

Add to task appears on each failing item, and Add all failing to tasks sends every one at once. See Send SEO issues to the Action Board.

Next: fix one failing item, then click Re-check on just that row.
