What the SEO section does and how to add a website
SEO lives under Marketing Manager in the sidebar. It checks a website the way search engines and AI answer engines see it, tells you what to fix, and turns each fix into a task. Start by adding the website at the top of any SEO tab.
The tabs
- Weekly audit — a check every Monday with fixes ready to approve. See How the weekly SEO audit works.
- On-page — every page of the site, analyzed one by one. See Analyze your pages.
- Technical — crawling, indexing, speed, security and tracking. See Technical SEO checks and re-checks.
- Off-page — directories to list on and places to publish. See Directories and places to publish.
- AI SEO — whether ChatGPT and other AI engines can read your site and mention you. See AI SEO and AI visibility.
The sidebar lists On-page, Technical, Off-page and AI SEO under SEO; Weekly audit is one of the tabs across the top of the SEO pages. All tabs share the same website box and the same list of sites.
Add a website
- Type the address in the box (for example
yourwebsite.com). - Click Scan website. The button reads Scanning pages… while it works.
- When it finishes you see "Found N pages", and the site appears as a chip under the box with its page count.
The scan reads the sitemaps listed in your robots.txt (or /sitemap.xml), follows sitemap indexes, and falls back to the links on your homepage. It lists up to 500 pages.
A scan costs 2 credits. Typing a site that is already scanned just selects it, at no charge. To pick up new pages later, click Rescan (2 credits). The weekly audit also re-reads the page list once a week on its own.
You can add several websites. Click a chip to switch between them.
If no pages were found
"No sitemap was found and the homepage had no links we could follow" means there was nothing to list pages from. Publish a sitemap at /sitemap.xml, then click Rescan. The 2 credits are charged even when nothing is found.
Plans and credits
Scans, page analyses, re-checks and the other paid actions need a paid plan, and the cost shows on the button before you click. Without one you see "SEO tools are part of the paid plan." The free weekly check is the exception: it covers your first website on the free plan and your first three on a paid plan.
Viewers can look at everything but can't run scans or create tasks.
Next: open SEO, enter your website and click Scan website.
