How your automation emails are performing

Flow Emails lists every email across all your automations in one table, with its Flow, Status, and Sent, Open and Click counts. You can search flows or subjects, and Edit opens the email.

Why it exists separately

The Metrics page gives you flow open and click rates as an aggregate. This page breaks that down per email, which is where the useful answer usually is: a welcome series is not "working" or "not working" — email 1 is doing fine and email 3 is being ignored.

What to look for

  • An email with Sent at zero while its flow is active. Either nobody has reached that step yet — normal if there is a long delay before it — or the flow is not enrolling. See Why has nobody entered my automation?.
  • A sharp drop between consecutive emails. People are leaving the flow, or the later emails are not earning attention. Often a timing problem rather than a content one.
  • No template set. The email has no content. It will not send anything useful, and this is the fastest place to notice.

Judge on clicks

Same caution as everywhere else: open tracking is unreliable in both directions, so compare flow emails on clicks. See Why open rates are unreliable.

Comparing flow emails to campaigns

Flow emails usually out-perform campaigns, because they arrive in response to something the person just did. That is not your campaigns underperforming — it is timing, and it is the reason automations are worth building at all.

Next: open Flow Emails and sort your attention to any row showing No template set or a Sent count of zero.
